Sam rescues a woman from government clones in a dead world, then realizes she might be something far worse than what was hunting her. The show's patience is brutal, it stretches each episode thin enough that you feel the desert heat and the paranoia the same way Sam does. By the time you understand what Ozma actually is, the entire premise has collapsed into something colder and stranger than first contact.

In a far future, intensified radiation from the sun has wrecked Earth's environment, drying the land into seas of sand, and human birthrates have fallen sharply. The government keeps society in line with an army of cloned soldiers known as the Ideal Children. Sam Coyne makes his living as a trader in the desert. One day he rescues Maya, a woman being chased by Theseus, a corps of these clone soldiers, and gives her shelter aboard his trade ship. Before long, Theseus destroyers surround the two of them. The result is a short science fiction adventure built on a concept by Leiji Matsumoto.
