Young sky pirate Coud stumbles onto something extraordinary during a routine raid: Ren, a girl found in his crewmates' cargo hold who belongs to the Edel Reid. Humans prize these beings because, through a process called Reacting, they grant their partners special power in battle. But Ren proves far more valuable than Coud expected. Three members of Arc Aire, an agency devoted to protecting the Edel Reid, board the pirate ship and offer to buy her, and Coud turns them down. Soon afterward a mysterious force attacks the ship, and Coud's captain puts him in charge of keeping Ren safe. The series is a fantasy adventure that mixes comedy and romance.
