SYNOPSIS
Seventeen-year-old Tita captains the Cha Cha Maru, a salvage vessel that hunts exotic creatures in Yietta's bizarre liquid-gas oceans. Her crew makes decent money selling rare lifeforms to intergalactic buyers, content to stay under the radar on a colonial world most of the galaxy ignores. That changes when Tita impulsively rescues Elysse, a young girl fleeing military forces, from a transport vessel. The act of mercy pulls Tita and her crew into the crosshairs of a conspiracy that goes far deeper than simple politics. Someone wants Yietta badly enough to topple its government, and Elysse holds information they can't allow to spread. Now Tita finds herself fighting against overwhelming odds, her small ship and smaller crew standing between a planet's freedom and total conquest.
