On the planet Yietta, colonists earn their living from the world's unusual liquid-gas oceans, and they are close to clearing their debts to the Galactic Federation. Seventeen-year-old Tita captains the Cha Cha Maru, whose crew catches Yietta's exotic creatures to sell to pet shops across the galaxy. When she saves sixteen-year-old Elysse from the military, Tita lands in the middle of a scheme to seize control of Yietta. The conspirators think Elysse carries a crucial computer code, and they send an army of professional killers to get her back. Tita and her crew are now in deadly danger, and they fight back.
