The Pokémon you remember don't move like they did in 1998, they move like they're alive. Researchers find a fossil of the Mythical Pokémon Mew and use it to make something that defies the laws of nature: Mewtwo, a Legendary Pokémon meant to serve as a weapon. As Mewtwo comes to understand how and why it was made, it grows bitter toward the humans who created it and sets out for revenge. Satoshi, Pikachu and their friends end up at the heart of its rampage, with the future of the Pokémon world on the line. The film mixes action, adventure, drama and sci-fi as the heroes face Mewtwo's challenge and Mewtwo searches for a new purpose in life.
