In a world populated only by Pokémon, a Hikozaru longs to join Pukurin Guild, a gathering place where Exploration Teams operate, but the members' strength and the guild's tight security scare him off. While fleeing, he trips over an unconscious Pochama. On waking, Pochama is stunned to hear Hikozaru talk and to see his own body, because he knows he was once a human, though he recalls nothing else. Hikozaru suggests asking the guild's leader for help. Guildmaster Pukurin cannot explain the transformation, but he makes the pair an Exploration Team, which Hikozaru names Pokédans. Their first job sends them to Labyrinth Cave with Kimawari to find a Gabite Scale. A one-episode adventure fantasy special adapted from the Nintendo DS game Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2: Time & Darkness.
