Pikachu loses the others and has to navigate the city with two mischievous kids who speak only in chirps. There's no real stakes here, just the pure joy of watching electric mice cause chaos and accidentally solve problems through sheer Pokémon nonsense. This special exists to remind you why you loved Pokémon in the first place, before story complexity or competitive mechanics mattered.
On a visit to a busy city full of Pokémon, Ash and his companions Kasumi and Takeshi let their Pokémon roam free, as long as everyone returns to the rooftop within two hours. Pikachu soon starts trading words with a Pichu on a building across the street, nearly tumbles off, and by a stroke of luck lands safely beside Pichu and his brother on the far side of the road. Since the two brothers know the neighborhood, they offer to guide Pikachu back to his friends. The trio runs into one hurdle after another on their trek through the crowded city, and Pikachu begins to worry about making it back in time. The special is a light, comic adventure.
