A mansion that moves through time and space should feel apocalyptic, but Popotan treats it like a perfectly normal Tuesday. The real search isn't for answers about who the Popotan are, it's watching four girls and an android discover that the journey itself was always the point. You'll sit through Christmas shop episodes and hot spring detours waiting for the show to break your heart, and when it does, you realize those small moments were building to it the whole time.

Three sisters, Ai, Mai and Mii, share their mansion with an android maid named Mea and a slippery ferret called Unagi. Their home travels through time and space, and the girls follow clues left by the strange, dandelion-like Popotan in search of someone who can answer their most personal questions. The trip leaves plenty of room for detours: they meet new people, stop at hot springs, and now and then open the Christmas shop they run inside the house. The comedy has an ecchi and supernatural streak, but not every moment is played for laughs, since moving on through time means parting with the friends they make, and their destination holds surprises of its own.
