Usagi loses Mamoru at the airport and her mind buries the memory to survive it. That's the entire emotional engine of Cosmos Part 1, and the movie refuses to let you sit comfortably with denial the way she does. After decades of Sailor Moon trying to balance cuteness with real stakes, this finally trusts that grown-up fans can watch a girl break in real time and feel it as loss, not plot.

Usagi Tsukino and her friends are enjoying ordinary lives as high school students until her boyfriend Mamoru Chiba, about to leave for study in America, proposes at the airport and then vanishes at an unknown hand. Unable to accept what happened, Usagi locks the memory away. Soon Shadow Galactica, under the command of Sailor Galaxia, arrives alongside the Sailor Starlights, whose loyalties remain unclear. Galaxia takes the Sailor Crystals that power the Guardians, and they are killed one after another. Facing a hopeless fight, Usagi confronts Galaxia as Eternal Sailor Moon in this magical girl film full of action, drama and romance.
