Princess Rangiku Ayawatari is the only survivor of her clan after Lord Karimata invades her home, kills her family, and seizes the secrets of her father's life work: puppets with unique fighting abilities. Carrying three of his finest puppet warriors, she sets out across civil war era Japan to take revenge. The puppets can take on the strongest fighters, but controlling them leaves Rangiku open to direct attack, so she goes looking for a legendary ninja to protect her. Instead she finds Yasaburou Manajiri, a drifting ninja who is the last of his own clan and is being hunted by deathless ninjas who shrug off seemingly fatal wounds. Learning that they share an enemy, the two join forces against the cruel lord and the strange puppets that hide a terrible secret. The single OVA mixes bloody action, horror and supernatural fantasy with touches of comedy.
