Alexander, son of King Philip II and heir to Macedon, has to survive schemers, assassins and his own father's envy before he can claim the throne. Once crowned, he sets out at astonishing speed to conquer every nation and be hailed as the Great King. An old prophecy says otherwise: he is destined to destroy the world and be remembered as the Devil King. His war with Persia and its ruler, Darius III, pushes him toward that fate. The film is a mythic retelling of the life of Alexander the Great, drawn from a novel by Hiroshi Aramata, with Peter Chung designing its characters and settings.
