Tokaku gets one more chance to be around Haru without the weight of murder hanging over everything. The special strips away the assassination framework entirely, letting you watch these twelve killers just be girls together, which is exactly what the series earned by the time it ended. It's fanservice in the truest sense, not skin, but time with characters you actually wanted to see survive.

Riddle Story of Devil Special is the thirteenth episode of Akuma no Riddle, which never aired on television and was instead bundled with the seventh Blu-ray and DVD volume in December 2014, after a preview screening in Tokyo in November. The original series is an action story set in the Kurogumi class of Myoujou Academy, a private boarding school for girls, where twelve assassins all have Haru Ichinose as their target. Tokaku Azuma, a new transfer student, is after Haru as well, but slowly comes to have feelings for her.
