Robby's life is a conspiracy of catastrophes, and his only way out is to con his way across the galaxy with a broke alien sidekick. Every location feels genuinely different, every scene lands its joke without trying too hard, and the two of them grow on you the way real friends do. SYNOPSIS
Robby Yarge is having the worst run of his life. At thirty, the aspiring freelance writer has just lost his job, his girlfriend, and most of his dignity to a series of spectacular failures. When a street thug steals his bag, a kindhearted teenager named Hatchi Kita steps in to help. Grateful but broke, Robby buys the kid a meal, and the two strike up an unlikely partnership. These polar opposites couldn't be more different. Robby's cynical and perpetually unlucky, while Hatchi radiates genuine optimism despite his rough circumstances. When a chance encounter offers them both a way out of their dead-end situations, they decide to leave Neo Tokyo behind and chase an impossible dream together. What follows is a chaotic cross-galaxy adventure through a universe where humans and aliens coexist, filled with broken-down ships, terrible decisions, and the kind of comedy that only happens when two people have absolutely nothing to lose. It's part buddy comedy, part science fiction romp, with enough heart underneath the chaos to make you believe that even the most spectacularly failed humans can find their way forward.
