A girl abandons rock for respectability, then finds another girl in an old building who reminds her what she actually is. The show doesn't make this about redemption or finding yourself, it's about two people recognizing each other in the dark and deciding that sweaty, loud, imperfect sound matters more than the silence of fitting in. Every performance sequence is animated like the stage is the only real place in the world, and by the time the drums and guitar lock in, you understand why they chose noise over everything else.

Lilisa Suzunomiya, a girl of ordinary roots, becomes the daughter of a real estate mogul when her mother remarries and enrolls at Oushin Girls' Academy, a school for wealthy young ladies. Hoping to earn the rare title of Noble Maiden, she gives up her guitar and her love of rock to keep up a refined front. Then drumming from the abandoned old school building leads her to Otoha Kurogane, a politician's daughter and a skilled drummer. The two start out at odds, but their shared passion pulls them together into a double life. They clash and shout their way through the academy in a music drama that pits elegance against rebellion.
