The show doesn't ask you to forgive its characters for what they do to each other. It asks you to understand why they do it, then watches you break anyway. Takayuki's weakness isn't a flaw the narrative punishes, it's the entire point, the reason three people who love each other can still destroy what they have. By the end, you're not mad at anyone. You're just holding the weight of what ordinary people do when they're scared, and realizing there was never a right choice, only the ones that cost the most.

Takayuki Narumi has grown close to Mitsuki Hayase and his pal Shinji Taira, even though Mitsuki first befriended him only because her best friend, Haruka Suzumiya, had a crush on him. When the timid Haruka finally confesses, Takayuki accepts because he does not want to hurt her, and the two become a couple with their friends' support. As the relationship turns intimate, Takayuki and Mitsuki begin to recognize their own feelings for each other. Then tragedy strikes, and one of the four falls into a coma. When that friend wakes three years later, the sudden return puts the group's bonds to a hard test in this romantic drama.
