A woman wakes from three years of nothing to find the person she loves has moved on with her best friend. The OVA doesn't solve this, doesn't make anyone the villain, doesn't offer easy catharsis. It just watches four people try to live with a debt that can never be repaid, and that specificity, that refusal to bend, is what stays with you.
Haruka awakens from a three-year coma, caused by a car accident, to a world that moved on without her. She leaves the hospital, returns to her parents' home and slowly adjusts to life outside with the support of her family and her boyfriend Takayuki. During her absence, Takayuki dated her old friend Mitsuki, and Haruka now wants to see her again. The couple revisit places from their shared past as if trying to recover the lost years, but they avoid the phone booth outside Hiiragi-cho station where her accident happened. Fearing she is a burden to Takayuki, Haruka proposes that they break up. She then throws herself into studying for university entrance exams in pursuit of a career writing picture books, while Takayuki looks for steady work during a long economic depression. This four-episode romantic drama asks whether two people chasing different goals can find their way back to each other.
