The Minus Wave doesn't just make yokai go berserk, it strips away the one thing keeping Shangri-La from collapsing into itself, and the show refuses to let you forget that every monster they kill was somebody's neighbor five minutes ago. The road west moves faster here, but the emotional weight doesn't lighten with it. Four characters who barely tolerate each other are the only thing standing between a continent and complete annihilation, and they know it costs something every single time they win.

Shangri-La is a continent where humans and yokai, science and magic, once lived side by side without any rule or order. That balance broke when the Minus Wave drove every yokai into a rampage, an event called the Calamity. The Sanzou Party presses on westward to halt Gyumaoh's resurrection experiments, the root of the continent's evil, and at last reaches India. There the Calamity's influence is stronger than ever, and their battles become more violent. A tragic fate from 500 years ago also awaits them at the end of the road. The series blends action, adventure, comedy, drama and supernatural elements.
