A middle-aged salaryman's entire emotional world collapses into one woman because she was kind to him once. The show doesn't judge him for it, it just watches him live inside that small, crushing truth. Sasurai is what happens when you strip away the fantasy of romance and leave only the loneliness that makes a single act of consideration feel like love.

Sasurai is a luckless salaryman, worked to exhaustion and lonely in a deep, existential way. He has a crush on an attractive coworker, less for any grand reason than because she treats him with consideration and she is the good-looking woman he sees every day. Adapted from a gag manga by Fujio A Fujiko, the short-format comedy runs thirteen slice-of-life episodes of about ten minutes each, with a longer first episode.
