Two gods cursed to hatred by jealousy and lies. Their mortal descendants fall in love across an impossible divide, and the show lets them fail anyway. A 1981 watercolor tragedy that refuses the Disney ending, built on the simple truth that some loves are doomed not because the feeling isn't real, but because the world won't allow it to survive.

In an age when gods lived on earth, the water god Oceanus and his sister Hyperia, goddess of fire, cherished one another and lived in harmony. Envious of their happiness, the wind god Algaroc sowed lies between them until their resentment turned to open war. The King of Gods eventually locked Algaroc away, yet the siblings' hatred endured, and the offspring of water and fire were kept apart. Then Syrius, a prince of the water, and Malta, a princess of the fire, find each other and fall in love. Their parents' enmity stands between them. Can their love outlast a feud that runs so deep?
