A discarded toy gets struck by lightning and decides humanity deserves to burn for throwing it away. The show plays this completely straight while also being genuinely funny about the absurdity of a felt-suit action figure leading a revenge army. It's the Shin-chan universe at its worst and best: ridiculous premise executed with the kind of deadpan commitment that makes you laugh before you realize what you're laughing at.

When toys of Oban, a character from a tokusatsu TV show, become a hit and then quickly fall out of fashion, piles of unsold figures end up in the trash. One day a bolt of lightning strikes one of them and brings it to life. Joined by other toys people have thrown away, Oban vows revenge on humanity and launches an attack. Oban's archenemy, Chūkōnen Kamen, is brought to life at the same time. Normally a depressed, overweight, middle-aged man, he powers up by eating cup noodles. Together with Shinnosuke, he fights to restore peace to the world. Adapted from the Figure Wars story in the original manga's 41st volume, this Crayon Shin-chan spin-off runs 13 episodes and mixes action, comedy and ecchi humor.
