It walks in dressed as another sparkly idol show, then spends twelve episodes quietly dismantling the idea that wanting the center spot makes you selfish. The hook is the manager who can hear a lie the second it leaves your mouth, which turns every pep talk and every "I'm fine, really" from TiNgS into an interrogation the girls didn't agree to. That's why the character writing lands: the smiles are load-bearing, and the show keeps pulling the beam out to see what collapses. Yes, it runs the "I don't deserve to be center" beat twice back to back, and the early insecurity dialogue is standard issue. Push through, because the stage work is gorgeous and HY:RAIN exists to remind you that talent alone was never the currency here. Slept on because it looks like Love Live and behaves like a therapy session with choreography.

A struggling idol group stands at a crossroads. TiNgS, made up of Haru Nabatame, Rio Seibu and Kyouka Tamaki, has managed only small successes, and now the unit faces disbandment. To survive, they must sell out a two thousand seat anniversary concert, even though their biggest crowd so far was 37 people. Their hope rests on Naoki Hinase, a gifted new manager who can see a telltale shine when someone lies. Though hesitant because of his past, he agrees to lead them after recognizing Haru's sincere love of idols. Haru dreams of making the whole world adore idols, and she is ready to become a guiding light to get there.
