These girls exist in a bubble where the only stakes are whether someone's feelings get hurt at breakfast. The show knows that's enough. It finds everything worth watching in the small wars over dorm room logistics, the exact temperature of friendship jealousy, the way a quiet girl becomes less quiet around the right people. Magic academy fantasy stripped down to what actually matters: five girls figuring out who they are when no one's asking them to save the world.

In the magic academy city of Ashram, where every student lives in a dormitory, girls called Pentagrams study magic, etiquette and general subjects in the hope of becoming true ladies. Arsnotoria, a girl who rarely smiles, shares the fifth dorm with the lively Mel, the easygoing Petit Albert, Picatrix, who wants to be class president, and the cool Abramelin. The five attend classes and carry out school duties together, and one of those duties is exterminating insects drawn to magic. After school they gather for tea in a secret room of their own. Ashram and the Pentagrams may hold more than their peaceful daily routine suggests. The result is a gentle fantasy slice of life about the friends' cheerful days together.
