Lawrence and Holo bicker like they've known each other for centuries, then one of them says something small and true, and the entire show stops to let you feel what's actually happening between them. The economics and trade deals aren't window dressing, they're the language these two use to understand each other, to test boundaries, to slowly admit they need each other. Romance anime usually build to a confession. This one lives in the space after, where love is mundane and terrifying and more real than anything else on screen.

Kraft Lawrence and Holo pick up where their journey left off, still chasing the distant northern homeland the wolf goddess calls Yoitsu. As a traveling merchant, Kraft keeps making modest profits between cities while Holo matches him with her sharp wit, and along the way they learn more about her lost home. The road brings trouble: a charming young merchant sets his sights on Holo, Kraft weighs risky deals in pursuit of his dream of owning a shop, and religious fanatics cross their path. As tenderness grows between them, Kraft starts to doubt whether Holo will stay and wonders if the time has come for them to part.
