In 2061, reckless pollution of space by humanity has badly stalled the growth of space travel. An international federation answers by naming the sun a natural incinerator, setting up a treaty under which hazardous waste is first processed on Jupiter, and creating Cosmo Ecology, a force charged with defending the space environment. Polluters still slip past the surveillance networks and dump radioactive waste straight into the sun. The resulting rise in solar flare activity now threatens to turn Earth into a desert. Star Dust is a single-episode science fiction OVA from 1992.
