In Steam City, a London-like metropolis whose whole civilization runs on coal and steam, the city is sometimes swallowed by mist. Villains use that cover to hide and carry out their plans. Only a few people are willing to go into the haze after them, and they are known as the Steam Detectives. Their leader is Narutaki, a young detective with a convertible all-purpose pistol. He works alongside Lingling, a nurse who serves as his assistant, and Gohliki, his Megamaton robot. Together they face a strange assortment of villains and solve one mystery after another in a steampunk mix of action, mecha and detective work.
