One girl just wants to reach their destination. The other wants to stop at every shrine, every alley, every moment that matters. By the time Akari stops fighting the detours, she understands that getting there was never the point. The film moves at the speed of footsteps on old stone, letting you feel what it means to accidentally fall in love with a place because someone else refused to rush through it. This is what summer looks like when you finally stop checking your phone.

Two high school classmates arrive in Kyoto during their first summer break of high school, and they have come for a specific purpose. Akari wants to head straight for their destination as fast as she can. Nagi would rather see every sight along the way and collect as many memories of the trip as possible. Akari keeps telling her to hurry, but Nagi carries on sightseeing, and Akari has little choice but to tag along. As she takes in Kyoto for the first time, Akari slowly starts to discover how enjoyable traveling can be. Eventually the pair make it to the place they set out for. This slice of life film is the Kyoto chapter of a crowdfunded project about journeys across Japan.
