SYNOPSIS
Mitsuko is an ordinary schoolgirl caught between compassion and social pressure. When Yu-Lian arrives as a transfer student, half-Chinese heritage makes her an easy target for classmates who have learned prejudice from their families. Mitsuko chooses to stand against the cruelty, but finds herself isolated in return. That same evening, she uncovers Emily, a porcelain doll tucked away in her family's storage. The doll carries an unexpected history: a gift from an American child decades earlier, it survived Japan's violent rejection of Western culture by hidden hands and quiet bravery. Mitsuko realizes her own grandmother once protected this fragile object the way she now wants to protect Yu-Lian. The next day, Mitsuko shares Emily's story with her class. What began as a simple act of friendship becomes something larger: a bridge across time and prejudice, connecting past kindness to present courage. This OVA examines how individual choices ripple outward, and how understanding another's history can transform how we see them.
