The Seraphim are a mystical race of spirits who keep the land stable, and they have granted a human boy named Sorey special powers. When Sorey crosses paths with Alisha and Lunarre, the meeting sets him off on a journey to become the Shepherd and save the world. This single action fantasy special adapts Bandai Namco Games' role-playing game Tales of Zestiria and aired ahead of the game's release. Its events match episodes 2 and 3 of Tales of Zestiria: The Cross, which later reanimated them with small story changes.
