Taro is a lazy, self-centered boy who spends his days eating, sleeping and wrestling with animals, with no real aim in life. That changes when a wizard hands him a potion granting the might of a hundred men, usable only when he acts on behalf of others. Learning that his long-lost mother was changed into a dragon, Taro finds a purpose at last. He sets off for a faraway lake to break the spell and rescue her, while still lending a hand to the peasants of his village. The feature film draws on Japanese mythology and culture, with visuals modeled on traditional Japanese art and silk screens, and blends adventure with fantasy.
