Marina Inoue's voice carries the entire weight of this thing, turning what could've been pure fanservice into something that actually lands, Yoko's confidence bleeds through every line of the song. The animation is pristine enough that you forget you're watching a music video for a character who exists primarily to be looked at. It's built entirely for people who already love her, which means it doesn't apologize for what it is.

Yoko steps into the spotlight in this music video for "S.t.a.r.S", a new song that voice actress Marina Inoue performs in character as Yoko from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Character designer Atsushi Nishigori planned and directed all-new footage for the video himself. The DVD release also comes with a video interview with Inoue and a booklet of more than 130 pages collecting storyboards, original drawings and designs.
