Ancient swords reincarnated as girls just want to live quiet lives in a peacetime museum, but history has other plans. The comedy lands because these aren't soldiers playing at domesticity, they're genuinely tired, genuinely reluctant, genuinely annoyed when the world demands they fight again. A show about the cost of being legendary is funny precisely because the legends themselves would rather do literally anything else.

Ancient swords live on as maidens called Mitsurugi, physical incarnations of the blades. After the age of war ended, they vowed to live in peace. Now a new enemy has appeared in an alternate Meiji Era, three hundred years after the Battle of Sekigahara, and they are returning to battle. Following recent events and hard training, the Mitsurugi also set out to make a big change in their lives: they trade their usual look for maid outfits. Adapted from an action RPG by Dengeki G's Magazine and DeNA, this 12-episode short series mixes comedy, fantasy and slice-of-life with a supernatural premise.
