The Prince of Tennis doesn't need the court to be itself. A viral video war where Eiji, Horio, and Shiraishi turn their friends into content is funnier than it has any right to be, because these characters carry the same intensity they bring to matches into the smallest, stupidest moments. "Bunta no Mezame" shifts that completely, three players stalking Bunta through his day, watching him live a life they don't understand, turns the show into something quiet and almost uncomfortable. These specials prove the cast works because of who they are, not where they're standing.

Two short specials, packaged with the DVD volumes of the Ano Toki no Bokura OVA, follow familiar tennis players off the court. In the first, a clip of Shitenhouji's Kenya Oshitari doing pen spinning tricks suddenly goes viral. Eiji, Horio, and Shiraishi then start competing for the most views, each uploading videos of their friends' talents, and every upload tries to be stranger than the last. In the second, Rikkai's Bunta Marui gets an unexpected call from an anonymous person and heads off alone to meet them. Curious about who is on the other end of the line, Yagyuu, Yanagi, and Niou secretly follow him to his meeting with a regular from another school.
