The crude MMD animation is a decoy. Behind that cheap exterior lives a show that understands anime tropes so thoroughly it can dismantle them in thirty seconds flat, then rebuild them as genuine jokes. Every episode moves like a sketch comedy show trying to fit an entire season's worth of structural ideas into twelve minutes. The show knows its audience came for the weirdness, stayed for the writing that never talks down to you. Most shows hide their intelligence. This one hides it under intentionally terrible CG and somehow that makes it funnier.
Four high school girls join the "Tesagure Club," an extracurricular activity so new that nobody actually knows what it's supposed to do. Rather than panic, they decide to figure it out as they go, rotating through different club activities each episode: sometimes they're running a cafe, sometimes they're making a movie, sometimes they're just trying to survive whatever absurd situation they've accidentally created. What emerges is a comedy about the specific energy of students with free time, enthusiasm, and absolutely no supervision. The girls riff off each other with rapid-fire jokes and deadpan reactions to increasingly ridiculous scenarios. There's almost no plot in the traditional sense. Instead, each short episode is its own contained sketch where the chaos escalates naturally from whatever premise they start with. The humor lives in character dynamics and unexpected tangents rather than setup-punchline structures. If you gravitate toward comedy that feels conversational and unpredictable, where half the joke is watching characters react to each other's nonsense, this hits different. It's goofy without being obnoxious, and genuinely funny in its weird specificity.
