Botan and Kuruma's chemistry is so genuinely funny that you stop noticing the animation is actively falling apart around them. The show knows it's ridiculous, leans into it, and somehow makes a scramble for world-ending Tesla crystals feel like watching two people who actually like each other bicker their way through a heist. If you've made peace with jank, this one earns its audience through pure character work and unhinged charm.

Botan Negoro comes from a line of ninjas and has been trained since childhood to become the ultimate agent. She is still a high school girl, but she is also an expert on the Tesla Shards: crystals in which the genius inventor Nikola Tesla stored the records of all his inventions, and which turn up around the world causing supernatural chaos. After an unexplained incident in Norway, she is brought into a secret operation called Mission T to recover them. Her partner is Kuruma, a smug agent who calls himself the number one spy. The two must outwit agents from other countries who are chasing the same fragments, with the fate of the world hanging on the outcome. The series is a spy thriller that mixes action, comedy and drama.
