The jokes come so fast you'll rewind twice just to catch what you missed the first time. Season 2 knows exactly what it is, a comedy first, plot second, and commits so hard to the pacing that even the "mysterious missing girl" subplot feels like an excuse to get Shamiko and Momo into another ridiculous situation together. There's no pretense here, no attempt to be profound. Just two girls who should hate each other becoming the best comedy duo on TV through sheer force of personality.

Shamiko, known as Shadow Mistress Yuuko, is still working to lift the curse the Clan of Light placed on her family. Along the way she teams up with Momo, a magical girl from the rival Light Clan. The two must join forces to track down another magical girl who has mysteriously disappeared. Meanwhile, a dangerous presence seems to be hiding somewhere in the city, and Shamiko's mysterious father may be nearer than she suspects. The season mixes comedy, fantasy and magical girl elements with a slice-of-life feel.
