A ghost paying Tokyo rent is funnier than it has any right to be. Tatami-chan complains about utility bills and job interviews with the flat, exhausted tone of someone who died and still couldn't escape adulting. The show's visual novel stiffness becomes part of the joke, everything looks cheap because even the supernatural can't afford better in this city.

Tatami-chan is a sharp-tongued ghost who has left Iwate Prefecture behind and now lives in Tokyo, sharing the city with other spirits, assorted supernatural beings and ordinary people. Otherworldly business is only part of her trouble: she has no job, so she has to hunt for work while keeping up with her gas, water and electricity bills. The result is a light horror gag comedy set in the Reiwa era, where the supernatural and the everyday run into each other.
