Noel talks his way into power while everyone else swings swords, and the show actually commits to making him a calculating bastard willing to burn people for advantage. The middle episodes waver on this promise, but when it remembers what it is, no anime does the "I'm using you and you know it, now follow me anyway" dynamic this cleanly. By the end, you're watching a man build an empire on nothing but manipulation and charisma, and the show never apologizes for making you root for him.

Noel carries the weight of his grandfather's legacy, a legendary Seeker who hunted the monsters that pour out of Abysses and died stopping an invasion of Noel's village. Noel promised him he would become the ultimate Seeker, even though his class is Talker, widely seen as the weakest and lacking any combat skills. Undaunted, he turns persuasion and cunning strategy into his weapons, supporting allies by boosting their abilities and giving orders. When betrayal leaves him alone, he sets out to rebuild his party, Blue Beyond, recruiting assassins and heroes and using notorious methods to remove anyone in his way. His goal is the strongest clan in the world. The show mixes action, fantasy and comedy with a psychological edge, centered on a support class turned into a path to power.
