SYNOPSIS
Subaru Sumeragi carries the weight of his family's ancient legacy at just sixteen years old. As the head of the Sumeragi clan and a powerful onmyou medium, he walks the grimy streets of 1990s Tokyo confronting spirits that prey on the city's broken inhabitants. His twin sister Hokuto and the mysteriously charming Seishiro help him navigate cases that blur the line between supernatural and psychological horror, but their presence can't fully shield Subaru from what he witnesses. Tokyo itself becomes a character in his struggle. The pollution, desperation, and moral decay seeping through the city's veins begin to corrode Subaru's optimistic heart. Each exorcism reveals how human suffering spawns its own monsters, and Subaru's genuine desire to save everyone clashes against a city that seems determined to consume his compassion. What unfolds is a dark meditation on youth crushed under responsibility and isolation, wrapped in supernatural case work. The series moves beyond simple ghost stories into the psychological toll of constantly absorbing others' pain while the world around you rots.
