You meet someone for one perfect afternoon and spend fifty years carrying the proof it happened, only to realize you've forgotten their face. The feather in your pocket becomes a monument to something you can't quite remember. Tori no Uta trades plot for the weight of a single, unbearable question: is a memory you've lost still real if you never stop carrying it?
A young boy walking home discovers an unfamiliar path through his city and decides to follow it. When rain begins to fall, a girl helps him find shelter, and he falls in love with her. He comes away with a feather, and as long as he keeps it with him, the two are meant to meet again. He makes his way home along the path, but when he looks for it the next day, it is gone. As time passes, he forgets the girl. Many years later he returns to the same city and dreams of her, still faithfully carrying the feather. Yoshitaka Amano wrote, drew and directed this single-episode fantasy OVA with a psychological bent.
