Arata and Lilith's banter carries the whole thing, their chemistry making the rushed plot feel less like a problem and more like an excuse to watch them riff on each other. The action actually breathes in ways the TV series couldn't afford. It knows exactly what it is: a 55-minute victory lap for people who already love these characters, not a story that needs to convince you it matters.

Arata's life turns upside down when he accidentally touches Lilith's grimoire, Hermes Apocrypha. A burst of white light surrounds him, and from it appears Lilim, a girl who insists that Arata and Lilith are her parents. At the very moment she shows up, something in the world shifts: the forbidden Eternal Library awakens. Sealed inside it is the White Demon Lord, the ultimate creation of alchemy. This entity plans to wipe out Arata and the Trinity Seven so it can take the title of Demon Lord for itself. Facing a power greater than any they have met, Arata and his companions must fight to keep the world from being destroyed. The film mixes action, comedy, fantasy, romance and ecchi elements.
