Goshogawara turns sumo into a five-man assembly of misfits who have nothing in common except that one kid's refusal to let his club die alone. The real match isn't in the ring, it's watching a judo captain, a pro wrestler, a street kid, and a shy giant learn to move as one body because someone believed they could. That's the show: not strength, but the cost of asking people to trust you.

Goshogawara, a third-year at Musashi Mountain High School, is the only member of its sumo club, which keeps him out of competitions. His enthusiasm and sincerity win over four recruits: Kaoru Kiyokawa, captain of the judo team; Takayuki Kannai, a pro wrestler; Nanno Ippei, a scrawny kid who wants to be a tough guy; and Raiden Goro, a huge but very shy boy who is also a skilled Go player. The five begin training side by side, and in time they enter a match against a professional sumo club. A single-episode sports OVA built around a high school sumo team.
