A girl whose touch destroys all luck falls in love with a man trying to die, and the show treats that setup like it's the emotional core instead of a punchline. Andy and Fuuko's dynamic isn't romance-as-subplot or comedy relief from the action, it's the reason every fight matters, the reason you care if either of them survives the next encounter. The animation gets cheaper as the season goes on, but the writing only gets sharper, pulling off something rare: a battle shounen that makes you believe two people would genuinely risk everything for each other.

Fuuko Izumo is cursed with Unluck: anyone she touches risks sudden, terrible misfortune, which has left her lonely and convinced she will never know the kind of passionate love found in her favorite romance manga. Worn down and ready to give up on life, she meets Andy, an immortal man with superhuman regeneration who wants nothing more than to die. He sees her power as his chance, and she becomes his reluctant test subject as he tries to set off a stroke of Unluck strong enough to finally kill him. Their plans stall when a murderous secret organization bent on wiping out people with special abilities starts hunting them both. Action, comedy and supernatural sci-fi drive the story.
