Nobody talks about these shorts. That needs to stop. They crack open the Squad 7 cast the way the main game never could, letting you watch Welkin fumble through squad politics while everyone else burns the base down around him. The comedy lands because it knows exactly who these people are, their neuroses, their contradictions, their complete inability to function outside a war zone. For people who actually finished Valkyria Chronicles, this is where the characters live when the weight of the continent isn't crushing them. It costs nothing but nine episodes of your time, and it gives you back your squad.

Valkyria Chronicles: Theater is a set of nine comedy shorts from 2009, released as bonus specials on the DVDs for Valkyria Chronicles. Instead of standing on their own, these brief extras accompany the main series on home video and give it a lighter, comedic companion. Viewers who own the DVD release will find them packaged alongside the regular episodes.
