It lands like a cold room after standing too close to a fire. Fire Force spends twenty minutes shrieking with Shinra's flaming feet and Tamaki's chaos, then Keina Suda walks in with a piano figure and that thin, unnervingly high voice, and suddenly the whole episode reads as grief instead of spectacle. That's the trick of "veil": it isn't a hype ED, it's the exhale, and it recontextualizes everything you just watched about a kid who lost his family to fire. Suda's phrasing sits right at the top of his range, always sounding one breath from cracking, and he never lets it break. Psychological tag isn't marketing here, the song does the interior work the show is too busy to slow down for. If you skipped the ED to hit next episode, you missed the part that actually hurts.
A music video for "veil", a song by Keina Suda, released in 2019 as a single piece. The track also served as the first ending theme for the anime Fire Force (Enen no Shouboutai), which links the video to that series. It carries a psychological genre label, so fans of the song or of Fire Force's closing credits will find it here.
Streaming veil legally, as of the last catalog refresh. Availability changes by region.
