// WHY IT HITS

A mother and child become a question mark the camera won't stop asking. The facelessness isn't abstraction for its own sake, it's the only honest way to show how family dissolves the boundary between self and other, leaving nothing recognizable behind. This is a film for anyone who has felt love erase their own outline.

SYNOPSIS

A mother and child stand motionless in a housing project park, a tableau of tenderness frozen in afternoon light. Yet something is profoundly wrong: neither has a face. The camera lingers on the empty space where they stood, searching for meaning in absence, as if sight alone might restore what has been lost. This experimental film meditates on the invisible bonds that hold families together and tear them apart. By stripping away identity, it asks what remains when we remove the surface markers we use to recognize each other. The park becomes a liminal space where love and alienation coexist, where the most intimate human connection exists without the faces we depend on to make sense of connection. The film moves slowly, deliberately, asking viewers to sit with discomfort and ambiguity. It refuses easy answers about motherhood, belonging, and self. What emerges is a haunting inquiry into how we construct meaning from those we're closest to, and what happens when that construction fails. Spare, unsettling, and deliberately oblique, it rewards patient attention.
