A Korean taekwondo champion merges his body with a giant robot, and the movie treats this fusion as genuinely possible through martial arts physics rather than sci-fi nonsense. The robot doesn't fight like a machine piloted by a man; it fights like a man who happens to be made of steel. You watch a champion athlete's instincts scaled up to city-block size, punching and kicking with the same discipline that won him tournaments, except now his kicks level city blocks. This is the only mecha film that cares more about the martial artist than the machine.

An evil scientist named Dr. Kaff, set on ruling the world, sends giant robots across the globe to abduct top athletes. Dr. Kim suspects his former colleague is behind the attacks and answers with his greatest creation, Robot Taekwon V. His eldest son, taekwon-do champion Kim Hoon, pilots the machine, either through its controls or by fusing his own martial arts moves with the robot's body. Kim Cheol, a grade schooler and Kim Hoon's younger pal, supplies the comic relief in this action-packed mecha film.
