Where most 1995 magical girl shows treat romance as the B-plot, Wedding Peach loads love into the weapon itself: Raindevila's minions exist to drain it out of the human world, and Momoko, Yuri and Hinagiku transform into wedding dresses first and fighting gear second, because the vow is the point. Momoko is a mess about it, too, forever tripping over Yousuke, who teases her rotten while she's busy being an actual angel sent down by Aphrodite through Limone. Fifty-one episodes gives it room to let Yuri's poise and Hinagiku's temper actually breathe instead of being color-coded filler, and Scarlet's late arrival shakes the trio loose. It is loud, pink, unapologetically sappy, and it commits harder to its central idea than shows with twice its reputation. Stay for the moment Momoko stops apologizing for wanting to be loved.

The human world, the angel world and the devil world coexist, and the wicked queen Raindevilla wants to wipe out the angel world with the help of her devil servants. To stop her, the goddess Aphrodite sends the angel Limone to the human world to call forth three love angels. They turn out to be the schoolgirls Momoko Hanasaki, Yuri Tanima and Hinagiku Tamano, and between them the trio takes on the identities of Angel Lilly, Angel Daisy and Wedding Peach. While handling their own everyday lives, the three battle the devils and search for every piece of the Sacred Four Somethings, hoping to beat Raindevilla for good and bring peace back to the angel world.
