A hyperactive golden retriever becomes the entire point of a show, and somehow it works. Michael doesn't need a story to move, he just needs a couch, a car, or literally any object to demolish while his owners watch in helpless silence. The comedy lives in the gap between what Michael wants (everything) and what he's allowed to have (nothing), played out in a single, perfect OVA that knows exactly how long this joke should be and stops before it wears out. If you've ever owned a dog that treated your apartment like a demolition site, this thing hits different. Pure energy, zero plot, maximum chaos. That's the whole appeal, and it works because the show never apologizes for it.
What's Michael? 2 is a 1988 comedy OVA.
