The resolution you thought you got isn't the resolution the show actually gave you. Watari wrote this epilogue himself, which means he's directly confronting what his ending meant, what it cost, and whether the people who chose each other actually know how to be together. This is a show about three people who spent seasons learning to stop lying to themselves, now watching them figure out if honesty is enough when the thing you love about someone is still the thing that scares you.

A single-episode OVA from the Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru franchise, released in 2023. Instead of airing, the episode was packaged with the special edition of the Kan video game from MAGES for Nintendo Switch and PS4. Its story adapts a selection of events from the Shin supplementary novels that came with the third season's Blu-ray discs, mixing comedy, drama, romance and slice of life.
