A father crab named Kanisuke and his son Kanitaro plant persimmon seeds they received from Sarukichi the monkey, and the seeds grow into a tree heavy with fruit. When Kanisuke struggles to reach the persimmons, Sarukichi gathers a full basket and makes off with it, then turns on the crab who chases him. Seeking revenge, Kanitaro turns to his three uncles, a chestnut, a bee and a mortar, who agree to help him lay a trap at the monkey's house. Released in 1927 as part of the Athena Film Library educational series from Yokohama Cinema Shokai, this short action film is remembered as Yasuji Murata's first work of animation.
