Bai Xiaochun is still running from death, still accidentally breaking the world, still refusing to admit how strong he's gotten. By season three, the show stops pretending this cowardice is just a joke. It becomes the whole point: a man terrified of losing everything finally understanding what he actually has to lose. The character work that earned your trust in earlier seasons pays dividends now, and the show knows exactly when to stop being funny and start being fatal.

Bai Xiaochun returns in the third season, which covers the Hostage arc. Having united the four downstream sects into the Reverse River Sect, he takes on the three midstream sects and comes out on top, giving his new sect solid ground to stand on. Next, the Celestial Being of the Starry Sky Dao Sect, from the upstream region, selects him to serve as a hostage. Still ruled by his fear of death and his longing to live forever, yet loyal to his friends and family, he faces this new chapter in a 59-episode ONA that blends action, comedy and fantasy.
